Well, We Bought A Bird But ... Empty

We were thinking of buying a bird and we did a month or so back but it terrified me. I was afraid to open the cage, feed it, clean it, and have anything to do with it. I'm not talking about a big bird just a little parakeet. It came to a point where I didn't even want to see it and so I kept the cover over the cage all the time.

We finally had to give the bird away to my friend who really liked it. I gave her everything I bought for the bird, cage, cover, food, and some other things,

I don't know what it is with me and birds. I remember I used to have nightmares about them when I was a kid. But the bird is in a good home now.

Did you realize that your fear of birds before you bought one?

Sometimes these things don't surface until a specific situation triggers the reaction.

Don't feel too bad. You gave the bird to a good home!

I have to say that I am not to keen on having birds fly about my head.

I had a boyfriend once, and his mom kept budgies and they would fly around all over the house. I think my dislike of them comes from their unpredictability.

I think the problem must have been about your perception about birds. My sisters don't like having birds as they find themselves intolerable when they see them. I think it is common to have such thinking.

Actually, I like birds, but a friend of mine is deathly afraid of them. We've never been able to figure out why she runs screaming at the sight of feathers, though.
