PostSubject: Bird droppings.   Bird droppings. Icon_minitimeWed Oct 01, 2008 7:15 am

There is one friend of mine, she is fond of birds, and she keeps many species as pet. She remains updated with all books and knowledge about the feathery creatures. She informed me recently that the bird droppings can be dangerous at times. Some people tend to develop kind of allergies from these droppings. Well I am not sure but could it be true?

Bird droppings accordingly causes meningitis among children thus we were cautioned not to keep them as pet. I am not sure either, but maybe its because of the methane content in the droppings. Huh! will try to research more on this matter.

I have not heard of this... Back when we had some birds, we did not worry about that, just kept the cage clean. I suppose if you do that, you should be safe, unless you let the bird fly around the rooms.

are you saying that it is dangerous even if the child does not touch the droppings?
that would be hard to believe.
