Well our Newfi, the breed is suppose to be livesaving dogs. We laugh, while we can get him on the steps of the pool, any further he will not move.
We have two that love to be on the steps (we have steps 1/2 way around the pool) and two who will not get in the water, although our peke loves to be splashed.
But the two large boys enjoy our pond, it isn't as intimiating.
I have often wondered if swimming is natural.

Yes ~ Carmen loves to swim. Out back on our property we have a crick. She swims here- We take her for walks all the time and we always end up in the crick.

Mine loves swimming! I take him to a lake near the city, where he can swim and socialize with other pets.

Our dogs pretty much hate the water.... Any ideas how we could get them to be more comfortable with swimming and actually get them to enjoy it?
