It has come to light that the mother already has six other children, and her new brood were created by fertility treatment.

Yes, I heard about that on the news too. it is raising an awful lot of questions about where she got the fertility treatment in the first place.

I've been reading about this today. A single woman, never wanted to marry but has been obsessed with having kids since a teenager. With six kids and no husband, she went and had 8 more. Her mother has finally had the guts to say, "I'm out of the picture."

The more that comes out about this story the more wrong it seems to me. I read a headline today that the girls mom says she is obsessed with having kids. I am not sure if this is doing the right thing by any of the now 14 kids. I also read that it is going to cost the state 2 million dollars to take care of those kids in the hospital. If it was a natural pregnancy so be it, but it wasn't and that just bothers me.

This story has a bit of strangeness to it, it says she worked in the fertility clinic as a psychologist, how true that is I don't know and that she lives in a 3 bed house with her parents and her 4 other kids.. mental.

I agree. Milking the state for 2 million bucks just because she wants to - that's quite a trick to play.

As many have commented, since she already had 6 children, she shouldn't have been even allowed fertility treatment. Couples who have no children at all or just one should be the priority.

They already had a large number of kids before these came. You can not tell me that parents can take proper care of so many kids.

All of the children are doing great, it's been said.

It saddens me that this mom wants this many children- sure it is ok if you can support them all financially and mentally- and you have help. She has her parents- and I think I might have read that the dad is moving out- and the mom is disgusted with her as well.

It's very sad the more I read.

I hope the babies are ok- and that the brothers and sisters are great too!

Mental is right! She should be declared psychologically unfit and those babies be put up for adoption.

She probably thought she would be getting freebies for life.....mental!

I think the mom was missing something in her childhood to want so many kids. She has said that she always felt lonely and would have like a brother or a sister. But I think there's more to it than that. I believe that this mom is looking for love that she feels she's never received and thinks that she will get it by having all the kids.

She's stated that she knows that she is putting her needs and wants before what her kids need.

This is so irresponsible. Having one child can be very hard. Having 14 under the age of 8 is impossible. Who is going to pay for the kids? Does she expect to get some kind of reality show? I bet she is. The problem is that all of this is not the fault of the kids. They need to be taken care of and this includes the mom.

I just read a report that this woman was spotted in a retail store purchasing video games!
