I know someone who has about eight different lizards. They type they are is escaping me right now ... but they are HUGE! They are very cool, but not quite the type of pet I would want. I like my pets to be more social than a lizard generally is.

You are probably talking about iguanas, they are very big. I agree that I'd want a more social pet. Reptiles are way too detached, I don't know if you can even interact with them.

I have a friend who keeps geckos, she has about half a dozen of them now. She even has a website dedicated to them.

I have a bearded dragon. They are sooo mellow. It is fun to watch him roam the living room though. He loves to run around the house!
