I posted on another thread about having fancy mice. We've also had wild mice for pets. We raised some orphan baby mice for almost a year before letting them go into the wild. They were never very friendly, even though we had to hand feed them when they were tiny. As we couldn't make pets out of them, we slowly tried to help them get used to living in the big outdoors. It didn't take long and we eventually stopped seeing them. I like to think that they are happy out there somewher and not that some predator found them

Some of the behaviors found in wild animals, select for survival in the wild, and cannot be overridden by training. Fancy/tamed mice have a lineage of docile behaviors.
