| It has been so hot here the past few days that our poor dogs have been panting to death! Is there any thing I can do to cool them down? | |

| Just make sure they have ample access to a cool water source (fresh cool clean water bowl) and shade. That is really about the best thing that you can do. I occasionally will add a few ice cubes to their water just to make sure it stays cool a little longer. | |

| Yeah, our dogs love to chomp on ice cubes - they think they are a treat!! I just feel so bad for their lack of sweat glands sometimes!! | |

| I would also make sure that your dog is not injured. They will sometimes pant when they are in pain. He's probably fine, but I just wanted to mention that. | |

| Does your dog like taking baths? If so, you can get him wet, without soap or shampoo, just pouring water on him in the yard. As he dries up, he will enjoy some cooling. I did that to my cats, they don't like water, but when it starts feeling cool afterwards they are all happy and purring. | |
